Rehabilitation Programme
Nader Abu Amsha, Director of the Rehabilitation Programme of East Jerusalem YMCA, tells us about Anas, a boy from a refugee camp in Tulkarem. The 13-years old was badly injured when he tried to pick up an unexploded ordnance device. With the help of the YMCA he could work through his traumatic experience and continue school.
Olive tree campaign
Since 2001 more than 50'000 olive trees have been replanted with the help of international sponsors. Since 2008 there is also a possibility to take part at the planting of trees or the picking of olives in a programme including the possibility to meet with locals and to visit informative events. The video shows international helpers during the planting in 2010.
The planting usually takes place in February, the olive picking in October. Information on the programme and on the registration can be found in our news or on the Joint Advocacy Initiative website.
