Important facts about Horyzon

Horyzon, the Swiss youth development organisation, was founded 40 years ago as a commission of YMCA / YWCA Switzerland. Today, Horyzon is an independant foundation which is recognised by the ZEWO for its public benefit. Since early 2008, Horyzon has been certified with ISO 9001:2008 and Management Excellence in Society Management VMI. 

Horyzon is involved in worldwide development projects for the YWCA / YMCA movement. It focuses on strengthening civil society and sees to it that people can build a worthy existence for themselves regardless of ethnic, religious or political beliefs, gender or social position. 

Horyzon has set the following priorities for development cooperation:

• Educational and health projects in Asia and Latin America
• Peace initiatives in the Near East
• Youth work in Eastern Europe
