Horyzon understands health as physical, mental and social well-being. The activities in this sector are aimed at enabling young people to have a positive influence on their health.
Horyzon's partner organisations focus primarily on education and prevention in order to encourage young people to behave healthily. Because young people who see future prospects are motivated to live healthy lives. Due to the close link between education and a healthy lifestyle, health promotion is integrated into other educational programmes in the Horyzon programmes. The prevention of HIV/AIDS and drug abuse is the focus of the programs, as is the therapy of traumatic experiences. In areas with years of armed conflict, war and displacement, activities that promote the psychological balance of young people are particularly important.
