2h Charity Runs Grabs and Olten

Last weekend (19.9.) the 32nd Grabser 2h run took place in mild weather and in front of an impressive mountain scenery.

A total of 105 runners* and skaters* took part in the charity run. They ran a total of 1,700 kilometers and an impressive total of CHF 46,710 was collected, which will benefit two projects. One of these is the Horyzon programme Paza la Paz - A step towards peace, in Colombia. It offers young people that are affected by poverty and violence courses in peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution, youth organisation and participation as well as income generation.
Despite corona, the atmosphere was excellent and the runners* and skaters* completed lap after lap in front of a feverish audience. It was really impressive how the youngest and also the oldest participants* complete the full 2 hours with ambition and enthusiasm. As a small supporting programme, the audience could take part in a competition about Columbia and the winner won a graffiti designed by a young person from Colombia.

Also, this weekend the Olten 2h run took place. This was the first 2h run ever to be conducted virtually - with success. 372 runners* collected a total of CHF 70,037. A part of this fabulous amount will be donated to the Horyzon programme in Haiti, Espace Sûr – a save space. Thanks to the great financial support, the educational and counselling offer for girls and young women can be maintained despite Corona.

The Horyzon team would like to thank all participants and the organisation committee for these successful events.
